Portwine Stains

Portwine stains are vascular birthmarks that are red to purple colored marks on the skin. They are made of enlarged blood vessels. Severe portwine stains can be associated with underlying neurologic or vascular abnormalaities. Portwine stains can usually be lightened with series of laser treatments. Maintenance treatments may be necessary.
