Sun Damage
Excessive exposure to the sun makes a person look older than he/she really is. Premature wrinkling and skin damage from sun exposure is also called photoaging. Photoaging, unlike natural aging, results in coarse, dry skin, freckling and blotchy brown pigmentation, skin discoloration, enlarged blood vessels, leathery skin, and deep wrinkles. Fortunately, many treatments can help. Photorejuvenation is the term we use for this process, using the energy of light to stimulate collagen, shrink vessels, and lighten pigment. Intense pulsed light (IPL) and lasers help a great deal. Topical creams also make a big difference. The SilkPeel and chemical peels can help as well.
