Palomar has developed the RejuveLux™ Photofacial process for the treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions on the face, as well as the arms, chest, and other large areas. Using the Starlux system, the RejuveLux process is able to clear sunspots, rosacea, telangiectasias, and other conditions, in order to improve skin tone*.
Treating a pigmented lesion with pulsed light results in heating the melanin. The damaged lesion is then naturally sloughed as the skin exfoliates. With vascular lesions, the blood vessel is heated and then shrinks and gradually is reabsorbed. The absorption of the light heats blood vessels and pigment, damaging both and leading to improvement of the skin’s appearance. The Starlux also has a 1064 attachment that allows it to be used to treat larger spider veins.
