Varicose and Spider Veins

Varicose Veins Varicose and spider veins are a very common problem. Red and blue networks can become unsightly as early as the teen years. Ropey, bulging varicose veins typically develop after childbirth or with age. Factors such as hormones, pregnancy, heredity and standing contribute to the development of these veins. “Venous insufficiency,” is the medical term used for the backflow of blood in the legs due to leaky vein valves that no longer stay closed, allowing the blood to gradually enlarge the veins. Many people may have symptoms such as aching, pain, and swelling. Fortunately treatment is available, and usually can be noninvasive. Please review our treatments page and online video.
