V Beam
This pulsed dye laser has a track record of many years in the treatment of vascular problems (hemangiomas, blood vessels, portwine stains, scars, and others). It uses a patented cooling technology to protect the skin from overheating. Laser energy is selectively absorbed by the red in the problem area. This heats up and shrinks the problem tissue. More than one treatment may be necessary for maximum improvement. No anesthetic is usually necessary due to the cooling process. There may be some bruising but it is much less than with earlier versions of the technology.
